Lilac Art and Photography

Originally from Rochester, NY, known for Highland Park and their extensive collection of Lilacs, I have photographed lilacs for many years. A few years ago I started to be sure to photograph the tags along with the lilacs, and have a large collection of named lilac photographs. Adding to the Highland Park lilac photos, I have recently been photographing lilacs at Brooklyn Botanical Garden and the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx.

Lilacs are like looking at paintings, each petal is a beautiful work of art all by itself. Capturing that bit of beauty to be able to print it and look at it whenever I want is a challenge that I think I have mastered. I never tire of looking at Lilacs live or in print. Most of my photos even bring back the memory of the scent of the day they were taken. Turning those photographs into art has brought a new dimension and joy to the prints that we make. We use high quality archival paper and inks so that both the art and photographs will last a very long time.
